Assoc. Prof. Annette Schmiede was appointed CEO of the Digital Health CRC in March 2022.
Prior to joining the DHCRC, Annette was Executive Leader of the Bupa Health Foundation. She is a current Board Member and previous Chair (from 2020-2023) of Research Australia. Annette has held leadership roles across public and private health for more than three decades, including as Board Member and Deputy Chair of Northern Sydney Local Health District, 2011-2021.
During her time as CEO of the DHCRC, Annette has drawn on her broad knowledge and deep understanding of the complex policy issues impacting digital health to drive a program of more than 300 research projects, thought leadership and commercialisation initiatives. Since the start of the DHCRC in 2018, she has been steadfast in championing digital transformation of Australia’s aged care system as one of the DHCRC’s strategic priorities.
