Beth Walker is the inaugural Public Guardian of the Northern Territory, bringing more than 25 years of experience in human services across the disability, aged care, mental health, families, advocacy, and child protection sectors.
Throughout her career, Beth has worked across both government and non-government organisations, with extensive experience in statutory decision-making, advocacy, and supporting vulnerable members of the community. She is committed to ensuring the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of people are protected through person-centred and accountable approaches.
Beth was a member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for more than 16 years and has represented the Northern Territory at local and national levels through organisations and advisory bodies including the Council on the Ageing, National Shelter, Health and Families Ministerial Advisory Committee, Community Housing Forum, and Consumer Health Forum.
Beth holds postgraduate qualifications in policy and management and continues to advocate for systems that promote inclusion, choice, and better outcomes for people requiring support and decision-making assistance.
