Cassie Mason is the State Manager of the SA/WA Ageing and Aged Care Local Network within the Australian Department for Health, Disability and Ageing, joining the Commonwealth in May 2025 after holding a range of senior executive roles in both the South Australian Government and not-for-profit sector.
With significant experience in ageing and aged care policy and service delivery, Cassie has led a range of significant initiatives for South Australia, including the establishment of the Adult Safeguarding Unit under landmark legislation, major reform of the retirement village sector, and leadership of the Aged Care Workstream as part of the South Australian Government’s COVID-19 response. In her current role, Cassie works closely with the aged care sector to implement the Government’s significant reform agenda, delivering a rights-based aged care system that puts older people at the centre.
Cassie is a passionate advocate for inclusive, person-centred approaches to ageing and aged care, and continues to drive innovation and collaboration across the sector.
