Dr. Rosy Walia brings over two decades (25 years) of senior management and non-executive director experience within the community and health sectors. For the past 17 years, she has served as the CEO and Company Secretary of Multicultural Care (MC), a leading provider of culturally tailored home and community-based support services for the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers. During her tenure, Dr. Walia has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to person-centred care, strategic vision, and robust risk management. Her leadership has been pivotal in advancing the organisation’s mission, ensuring high-quality service delivery and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Before joining Multicultural Care, Dr. Walia played a key role in advocating for quality management within the community and health sectors. As the State Manager for NSW/ACT at a national accrediting body, she championed the implementation of quality standards, significantly enhancing healthcare delivery across the sector.

Dr. Walia’s expertise extends beyond management roles. She has held numerous representative and advisory positions, including her appointment to the Workforce National Committee of the National Disability Services (NDS) Board in 2020, which was later changed to the Community of Practice. From 2011 to 2023, she contributed to the Community Care Advisory Committee of Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA, now ACCPA) and held a position on the NSW Division Council of ACSA from 2019 to 2023. She was elected as a member of the NSW Divisional Committee of NDS in 2019 and re-elected in 2022.

In addition to her sector leadership, Dr. Walia has served on numerous not-for-profit boards and advisory groups. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Home Care Package (HCP) Program Assurance Reference Group of the Department of Health and Aged Care, as well as the Aged Care Stakeholder Working Group of Services Australia. Her insights were sought during the 2018 Providers Roundtable on the Royal Commission into Safety & Quality of Aged Care, and she contributed to the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency Standards Guidance Reference Group.

A recognised authority in multicultural service delivery, Dr. Walia received the prestigious Cultural Diversity Scholarship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in 2016 and participated in its selective Boardroom Mastery pilot in 2019. She is a regular presenter at industry conferences, where she shares her insights on multicultural services, aged care, and community-based support. Regularly consulted on social policy and program design, she continues to advocate for collaboration across diverse stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes. Dr. Walia’s exceptional relationship-building skills and her passion for multiculturalism are at the core of her professional journey, reflecting her belief that strong public relations are essential for impactful service delivery.
