Hon. Tracey Martin is the Chief Executive of the Aged Care Association New Zealand, appointed in May 2024. She brings extensive leadership experience from her nine years as a Member of Parliament (2011–2020), during which she served as Minister for Seniors, Children, Internal Affairs, and Associate Minister of Education—launching the Better Later Life Strategy in 2019 to encourage positive attitudes toward ageing nzaca.org.nz+1LGNZ Conference.
Since stepping into her role at ACA, Tracey has grown membership to nearly full representation of the residential care sector and continues to engage across the political spectrum to advance policies that strengthen aged care and support older New Zealanders to stay close to their communities LGNZ Conferencenzaca.org.nz.
A passionate advocate for dignified, community-based care, Tracey has publicly called for bipartisan taskforces to develop a sustainable continuum of care—from home services through to residential and dementia support—highlighting escalating pressures on hospital systems and the need for long-term infrastructure planning.
