Support at home reset: 10 strategic moves to stay ahead
Concurrent session A6 – Spotlight on care at home
Tuesday 30 September 2025
3pm – 3.30pm
Precis
Support at Home is a reset — and your strategy will decide whether you lead, follow, or fall behind.
With capped pricing, activity-based funding, a new performance-based registration model, and tighter compliance expectations, Home Care providers face a critical juncture, one that calls for a focused, future-proof strategy.
This session outlines 10 key strategies that every provider should consider embedding in their strategic plan to remain competitive, compliant, and sustainable under the Support at Home Program, and beyond.
Drawing from national consulting experience with providers preparing for reform, Jennene Buckley will present the strategic focus areas that are most critical to success, helping home care leaders cut through the noise and prioritise what matters most in their transformation efforts.
Attendees will explore critical concepts such as aligning service delivery with activity-based costing, rethinking workforce models in the face of national shortages, and elevating client and employee experiences as core strategic levers. The session will also highlight the importance of building a digital capability that supports care, compliance and operational agility and establishing strong governance systems that align with the new Aged Care Act.
With the sector opening up to new market entrants and greater consumer choice, providers must define their unique value and position themselves as trusted, high-performing partners in aged care. Strategic growth, targeted partnerships, and localised service advantages will be key to long-term viability.
This session is designed for home care leaders and decision-makers who want to step back from the day-to-day and sense-check their organisation’s strategic readiness. It provides a clear lens on what needs to be in place now to stay ahead and what to leave behind.
