The role of robotics in modern aged care
John Paulo is the Country Lead for Dex-Lab’s expansion into Australia and serves as Business Development Manager across Singapore and APAC. He oversees international deployment strategy, commercial growth, and strategic stakeholder engagement, playing a key role in Dex-Lab’s mission to revolutionise eldercare through AI-powered robotics.
Prior to Dex-Lab, John held a regional business development role with The Walt Disney Company, managing subscriber growth, regional partnerships, and content strategy for Disney+ across Asia-Pacific. He also brings operational experience from the FMCG sector with a focus on cross-sector collaboration, retail development, and brand localisation.
At Dex-Lab, John led the commercial deployment of Dexie—Singapore’s first humanoid robot designed for elder and dementia care—across hospitals, care homes, and government-led public engagement campaigns. He now spearheads Dex-Lab’s first international deployment of the new Daisy model in Australia, working with partners to align robotics with aged care workforce support, reablement, and care engagement.
John holds a degree in Communication and Psychology from the University at Buffalo (SUNY), and a diploma in Environment Design from Temasek Polytechnic. He is also a current Regimental Sergeant Major (NS) with the Singapore Armed Forces, bringing a strong background in leadership, operations, and mission-focused strategy.
John believes that eldercare innovation must be scalable, inclusive, and deeply human. His goal is to bridge innovation with empathy—bringing dignity, engagement, and sustainability into the future of care.
