Judith Covell is an aged care advocate from Queensland and part of the National Older Person’s Reference Group. Judith lives with several chronic health issues and is also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse in a major public hospital, which impacts on her ability to seek medical assistance and aged care. She has strong professional, activist, and community experience in public mental health, policy, and acute sexual assault response, and has delivered robust advocacy for service delivery to aged persons and survivors of sexual abuse in her local health district and beyond. Judith believes that many of our problems in aged care can be resolved by addressing gendered and ageist biases embedded in the policies and practice of aged care services.
