Precis
Workforce retention is one of the biggest challenges facing aged care providers today. With an alarming annual turnover rate of approximately 65,000 workers, as reported by CEDA, it’s never been more critical for aged acre providers to focus on keeping our valued employees.
In this session, Tash Edwards, former people and experience lead at Feros Care, will share her insights from her research on workforce retention, both nationally and internationally. Tash will offer practical strategies that can make a significant impact on reducing turnover rates. This session is designed to provide proven methods that can help aged care providers improve their workforce stability and improve the quality of care.
The session will:
• Explore the latest HR trends that are shaping the employee journey. Understanding these trends is key to creating a supportive and engaging work that can retain talent and build your employer brand. Tash will highlight how these trends influence every stage of the employee journey, from recruitment to development and beyond.
• Discuss the importance of understanding and improving the employee experience. Keeping people starts with understanding their experiences and addressing their needs. This segment will focus on the critical role of a positive employee experience in boosting job satisfaction and retention.
• Cover the impact of unwanted turnover. High turnover rates not only disrupt the organisation and affect client care, but they also demoralise remaining staff. Tash will shed light on the far-reaching consequences of turnover and the need for proactive retention strategies, including the importance of proactive employee listening programs. These programs are essential for understanding employee concerns and making necessary adjustments to improve retention.
• Focus on the use of data and AI to identify turnover risks. Across the globe, aged care organisations are leveraging data and AI to pinpoint potential turnover risks before they become critical issues. Tash will present case studies demonstrating how these technologies can be used to predict and mitigate these risks effectively.
Join this session to gain valuable insights and learn from successful strategies employed by people care organisations worldwide. By prioritising employee retention, sustainable growth and high-quality care for clients can be ensured. This session promises to be a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their approach to workforce retention in the aged care sector.
