Roald Versteeg is an executive with over 20 years’ experience in health-related government and non-government organisations, including roles in advocacy, policy, regulation, general practice education, practice and aged care standards, health and aged care funding, and government relations.
Roald is a fierce advocate for a quality and sustainable health and aged care system and joined Ageing Australia as the General Manager for Policy and Advocacy in January 2023.
At Ageing Australia, Roald is responsible for policy, advocacy, government relations and media.
Roald holds a Master of Health Economics.

Ageing Australia has embarked on the Continuum of Ageing 2050 strategic initiative – creating a vision and roadmap that places older people at its heart. This session will provide an update on the initiative, which is focused on supporting older Australians to age well, with access the right supports, services and housing. Previews will be provided on evidence-based research commissioned by Ageing Australia, identifying drivers of change, megatrends, community sentiment, and expectations for ageing.
Participants will have the opportunity to provide input on preferred futures for ageing and aged care in Australia that are future-ready, adaptable and empowering.
