Shane Klintworth

Shane’s career commitment is to the delivery of excellence in human services and influencing positive change through the application of ethical, accountable and responsible leadership. He is passionate about social justice, inclusion, and respectful communities.

He is an accomplished leader with a passion for partnering with vulnerable and disadvantaged communities to advocate for, and achieve long term and sustainable change. With over 25 years in the community and not for profit sector, he is known for his strength in leading people and shaping organisations to deliver their mission.

Shane has had significant experience in frontline roles, as well as executive and CEO positions across a range of service delivery areas, including partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Housing and Homelessness, Disability, Family Law, Domestic and Family Violence, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Problem Gambling, Alcohol and Drug, and Community Capacity Building. He has successfully led a number of change and reform programs across these sectors and has built culturally safe and inclusive services. It is the diversity of this experience across sectors and roles that sees Shane bring an innovative style and an exciting way of working with the teams that he leads.

His personal approach encourages unity and collaboration as well as instilling the requirement of accountability in all that is undertaken within the organisations that he leads.

He has successfully worked in Nationally federated organisations, negotiating the competing needs of members and built a reputation for creating strong, effective, and respectful relationships.
Shane is known for delivering and implementing large scale and high-level change programs in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Combining his experience as a senior executive, with qualifications in community education, counselling, business, and governance, Shane is well placed to provide direct operational and strategic leadership to any team, and successfully lead the vision and objectives of his organisation and Board.

This panel will explore culturally safe, inclusive approaches to care delivery, while highlighting the challenges faced by the workforce entering private homes, including discrimination and bias.
