Yvonne Odegaard is a Senior Elder of the Cubillo Odegaard Larrakia family, with a deep and enduring connection to Larrakia Country. Based at Wagait Beach, near the Belyuen Aboriginal Community, Yvonne’s connection to Country is through her three Larrakia ancestor grandmothers, who were born on Larrakia Country in the 1800s.

A recognised Larrakia artist and fashion designer, Yvonne has spent over 30 years showcasing her artwork and contributing to Larrakia public art projects. Her creative practice reflects her cultural heritage, stories, and connection to Country. With family ties extending over 162 years on Larrakia Country, Yvonne continues to honour and share the traditions, knowledge, and history of her ancestors through her work.
