Dr Tanya Bell is a values-driven Chief Executive Officer and Board Director with more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, social services, and the not-for-profit sector. She currently leads Footprints Community, a long-standing provider of community-based services supporting older people and those experiencing mental illness.
Tanya’s career has taken her across research, government, and community organisations, equipping her with a broad understanding of the diverse needs of vulnerable populations and the systems that support them. She is recognised for her collaborative leadership style, ability to build strong partnerships, and commitment to person-centred and inclusive approaches.
With a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology from the University of Queensland, alongside qualifications in science and education, Tanya brings both academic rigour and practical experience to her work. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, with strengths in governance, risk management, and financial stewardship.
Beyond her executive role, Tanya contributes to the sector through volunteer directorships in housing, homelessness, and mental health. These roles reflect her deep commitment to working alongside others to reduce inequities and ensure services are responsive to those most in need.
Tanya is particularly committed to contributing her experience and insights in a way that supports shared learning, strengthens sector collaboration, and helps shape policy directions that will positively impact vulnerable Australians and the communities in which they live.
